Toshiba Portege R500

Toshiba Australia have launched its new flagship notebook, the Portege R500. It delivers “world-first portability and power”. The R500 offers technological innovations, being the lightest and thinnest notebook with a built in 7mm optical disc drive and a long lasting battery. It is also the first notebook to use transreflective LED backlight technology for better screen visibility. 

The R500 weights less than 1kg, and has a 12.1 inch screen, while measuring in at 19.5mm thin. It has a 7mm Super Multi DVD drive and a six-cell lithium ion battery. It offers 12.5 hours of power which is plenty to last a work day, or an long flight. 

It comes with a 3 year international parts and labor warranty, including complimentary courier pick up and return service. The notebook comes in two pricing models, with each having a recommended retail price of AU$3,300 and $4,125 respectively.
